The Organisation of European Union or the EU is a European group modelled after the United Nations in structure except for two main differences. The EU disqualifies countries that might want to join if their country is not physically a part of Europe. And, the EU prints its own currency or the Euro. Those are two major points that almost qualifies the EU as a sovereign country. The exception is that the EU is made of countries that keep their own military. The importance of the EU is that it can act as a single country. Since it is made up of a large continent known as Europe that is joined in financially protecting its interest, it does have important powers.
The EU is not merely a Euro. But a Euro is the common currency of a Europe, a unified continent.
There are certain aspects of the EU that are not well known. For example, few media concerns in parts other than in Europe discuss the members of the European Union, their meetings, their leaders and their concerns. The world outside of the Organisation of European Union knows little about the EU except for its euro and how it is trading on the currency exchange.
